On July 23rd, Redditor mershed_perderders started /r/sixdigits, a subreddit specifically for sharing 6 digit codes. Many users in the comments can be seen asking where to put the numbers in, and what they mean. On June 7th, 9Gag user herr_flauschig shared posted an image titled, "My numbers list – updated" garnering over 640 points and 116 comments in roughly 17 months (shown below). On June 1st, Facebook page Ba$ed Imouto 3.0+1.0 posted a series of 6 digit codes along with a photoshopped 4-panel webcomic featuring Yukinya's ahegao face, garnering over 450 reactions and 132 shares in 17 months (shown below, right). The post gained over 3,800 upvotes in 20 months. On March 31st, 2019, Redditor Lightning3773 posted an image macro to /r/Animemes with the top text, "When your friend asks why you have an entire notebook filled with numbers," titled, "118282 is my favorite so far" (shown below). In the following months the joke spread around social media, particularly on subreddits like /r/animemes and /r/hentaimemes, 9Gag, and Twitter. Can we get 5 updoots?" 118282 being the nHentai reference number for an issue of the hentai manga "Yukinya!" featuring one of the images shown in the macro. The post is captioned, "I spent 118282 hours making this. On August 18th, 2018, Redditor kiencancap posted an image macro with the top text, "Anime girls with 'Yuki' in their names are such cuties" and 4 images of different anime girls (shown below). The post gained 600 upvotes in over 2 years. On February 8th, 2018, Redditor Asphyxiem posted an I'm Going To Tell You A Great Story image macro titled, "The Legend of 177013" to /r/animemes, referencing the 6 digit code 177013, which is the nHentai code for Emergence (shown below). The hentai, which tells the story of a young girl who was sold by her parents to a man who keeps her locked in a box, is often referenced by the Nhentai number on various anime-themed meme communities, most notably /r/animemes.The exact origin of the meme is unconfirmed. On the site Nhentai, the title "Mii Inside the Box" is assigned the number "215600". The URL number is also occasionally used as bait. Another popular variant showing a crusader reacting to the tags (shown below, center) was uploaded on November 5st, 2018, and gained over 3,800 upvotes in the following days. On October 1st, 2018 /r/Animemes user Millervon01 uploaded a variant of the You Can't Scare Me With This meme showing the actor Keanu Reeves reacting to the disturbing tags (shown below, left) this image was upvoted over 1,800 times in the following days. Other popular examples include a Goblin Slayer parody that gained over 100 points in the subreddit (shown below, middle) and a Jason Momoa Sneaking Up on Henry Cavill parody that gained over 1,600 points (shown below, right).Įrogros (also known as 228922 by the URL number of its second release on nhentai) is a hentai anthology series revolving around grotesque themes such as rape, cannibalism, and torture. On /r/animemes, one of the popular early instances of the format (shown below, left) was posted by user u/NoixIwi on July 24th, 2018 and gained over 7,300 upvotes. The format has proven popular in anime-related meme communities such as /r/animemes. ![]() Some notable shocking tags include "Scat," "Nipple Birth," " Ugly Bastard," and "poor grammar." Spread On websites which focus on pornography, these tags are often used to describe the contents of specific pornographic content and to group common fetishes together.
